Castle Wood School

Castle Wood is a large broad spectrum special primary school (3-11 years) with 139 pupils.

We were formed in April 2008, as the result of the amalgamation of two special schools and moved to a new site and purpose-built premises in September 2010, co-located with Moat House Primary School. The school has been carefully planned to enable access for all pupils.

Castle Wood admits pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities (cognition and learning) ; we have pupils with profound and multiple, severe and moderate learning difficulties. We also admit pupils with autistic spectrum condition (communication and interaction) and additional learning difficulties,

Castle Wood school has a Saturday club which is open to any child with an EHC in the city and their siblings. The club has Charitable status and is managed by the governing body. Sessions are on offer alternate Saturdays 10.00 am - 3pm  and summer holidays.
