Question - What are the school day timings?

Answer - 8.55am - 3.10pm.

Question -  What do I do if my child is late to school?

Answer - If your child is late for school, even by a few minutes, it is important that you inform the School Office.  It is not just about monitoring punctuality, but is essential for fire safety and security.

Question - How do I report my child's absence from school?

Answer - Please telephone the school on 02476709060 as soon as possible and on each day of your child’s absence from school. It is very important that you let us know your child’s symptoms. 

Question - My child is on transport how do I report an illness?

Answer - Please contact transport 02476834004, inform them of the child's name and what bus route they are on. Please contact school also. When your child is well, please inform transport to pick to your child up.

Question - How much does school dinner money cost?

Answer - It's £2.00 per day - £10.00 per week.  All cheques should be made to be made payable to ‘Castle Wood School’ and please write your child’s name and class on the reverse.

Question - How can I buy school uniform?

Answer - We sell uniform items: sweatshirts, polo shirts and book bags in school office. You can download an request form online and send in with your child, along with payment. Trousers, shorts, dresses and skirts can be bought from most department stores or supermarkets in grey.

Question - Can I take my child out of school for a holiday during term time?

Answer - No.  Any absences (other than through illness, medical appointments or individually agreed circumstances) will be recorded as unauthorised and you may incur a fixed penalty fine.

Question - How will I be informed if there is an enforced school closure?

Answer - Please check our website which will inform you of any closures due to weather and Teacher Training days. Also please listen to Free Radio for Coventry to listen to weather updates and school closures.

Question - My child needs to have medication at school?

Answer - Please contact the school to receive a medication consent form and fill this out. The medication must have a pharmacy label with the child's name on for school administer medication in school.

Question - How long before my child can return to school after an illness?

Answer - In the case of vomiting and diarrhoea your child should return to school 48 hours after the last period illness.  If you are unsure please contact school and speak to our school nurse.

Question - What do I do if I have a concern or a question?

Answer - Please feel free to call before or after school and ask to speak to your child's team leader.
