Castle Wood

Together, children first...

Safeguarding

Safeguarding at Castle Wood underpins all that we do. All staff are trained in Safeguarding and work closely with the Safeguarding Team and other professionals and agencies to ensure that the children in our community are kept safe.

Below is further information not only on Castle Wood's safeguarding practice but also on what you can do if you have concerns about a child or wish to seek further support.

Safeguarding

Castle Wood's Child Protection and Safeguarding policy can be found here alongside other policies which inform our practice and procedure.

If you have a Safeguarding concern or need support, including in times of school closure, the following advice is available via the Coventry City Council webpage:

What to do if you need help yourself, or are worried about another child or young person?

If you think a child is in immediate danger always call the emergency services on 999.

To discuss a non-emergency matter with the Police call 101.

If you are concerned that a child or young person is being harmed or is at risk of harm, but there is no immediate danger, or you need advice or information, please call Coventry Children’s Social Care at the Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) on 024 7678 8555.

Out of office hours please call the Emergency Duty Social Worker on 024 7683 2222.

For queries relating to Independent Reviewing Officers, Conference Chairs, Safeguarding Conferences or to discuss your own existing case please call 024 7697 5483.

If you feel like you need some help and support with your own children or your family, or you just want to talk to someone about your family life, Coventry City Council have 8 Family Hubs around the city. Family Hubs are open to all children, young people and their families living in Coventry and they will work with you and give you information, advice and support. You can walk into any Family Hub (it doesn’t have to be your local Hub) or you can phone them. More information on this can be found at: www.coventry.gov.uk/familyhubs
