Key Stages

Pupils at Castle Wood are based in classrooms arranged according to Key Stage.  Each individual class at Castle Wood will typically have a mix of two-year groups in each class.  We have chosen to work in this way, so we are being inclusive of all children's needs and are meeting the changing needs of children as they mature.  We believe that children are taught according to stage of learning not age, a child in any key stage could be working in any of our curriculum pathways.  Key stages support us to challenge our practice and provision making sure no child has a ceiling placed upon their learning.
