Parent Teacher (staff) association

At present, Castle Wood does not have a PTA, but we are trying to change that.

We are always looking for ways in which we can bring our families even more into the heart of our school community. We would love to bring together a group of parents/carers/community members to form a Castle Wood PTA alongside our dedicated staff.

If you think you would like to be involved at any level, including the roles of Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, Secretary or Committee member please let us know! More information is available on the school website outlined below.

PTAs can make a huge difference to the opportunities offered to our children and the fundraising we are able to do as a school. For a highly effective PTA, we need you!

By developing a PTA, we would be able to apply for charitable status, leading to more fundraising opportunities and avenues. It would also mean that we are able to access funding streams at a time when school budgets are becoming more and more squeezed by increased costs. 

The role of the PTA is to support the school in its development priorities and work with the staff to develop links, opportunities and events. While the school supports the work of a PTA, it does not run the PTA, and as such we would need to have a core group of parents willing to give up some time and take on a little responsibility. Generally speaking, most PTAs will meet roughly once a term. 

Roles within the group would include:

Chair

Vice-chair

Treasurer

Secretary

Committee member

Volunteer event supporter

This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of the ever developing landscape at Castle Wood. If you think you would like to know more or have the skills to contribute please complete the forms link below. Please do be aware that a bank account would need to be opened for the PTA and a number of committee members may be required to be signatories.

This opportunity is also open to relatives of children at the school and does not only have to be the parent. So if you have a family member who would like to show interest please also share the link with them or fill it in on their behalf.

If the number of responses suggests that a PTA may be viable, a meeting will be held in the new year to begin the process more formally.
